Conoscete le leggende sul vischio?

Secondo antichissime credenze popolari; siamo soliti, infatti, donare o tenere in casa rami di vischio tra la fine del vecchio e l’inizio del nuovo anno nella speranza di proteggere in tal modo noi stessi, le persone a noi care e la nostra casa dai guai e dalle disgrazie. La valenza del vischio è dunque quella di portafortuna.

Nel periodo natalizio viene utilizzata per le decorazioni sulle porte, come simbolo di buonaugurio; è nota la tradizione di salutare l’arrivo del nuovo anno dandosi un bacio sotto uno dei suoi rami. Se due innamorati si baciano sotto un ramoscello terranno lontani da loro problemi e difficoltà. Se nel periodo natalizio una ragazza che si trova sotto il vischio non viene baciata dal suo amato non si sposerà per l’intero anno a venire.

Un’altra tradizione natalizia legata al vischio, come diceva prima, è l’attività di baciarsi sotto il vischio. Una leggenda molto nota ed anche molto attuata sopratutto tra le giovani e neo coppie. Scambiarsi un bacio passando sotto ad un ramo è sintomo di buon auspicio.
